Stupid Question: How to remove tow hook cover

I don't want to mess up the paint. Any suggestions on how to remove the tow hook cover from the front bumper?

I think you push the upper part and bottom part will swing out.

Yep...That is exactly how it came out. Because the bottom portion has a thick tab. Thanks again for answering my stupid questions. I felt like an idiot asking but I would rather ask than have to replace the cover.

Still useful 3 years later. I received a fix-it ticket and need to put a front license plate on the car. I am going to use the tow hook license plate bracket and was in the middle of searching for a rubber tipped screwdriver when I came upon this post. Thanks!

Ah, this is what the eHow Web site recommended under its paint saving removal techniques...and I quote, "...ensure that the vehicle is traveling above 45 mph."

I was having trouble removing one stuck on the side of the road in the snow a couple years back and I broke the POS in half without damaging the bumper. Got a new one and a favorite body shop painted it for free when they were doing another car of the same color

So it broke in half when you were pushing it in for removal? That's not encouraging!

Only because it was stuck and I killed it with my Falcon Punch!
