X5 purchase hasn't quite gone to plan....
So, the X5 I was meant to collect Tuesday had an issue with the wheel alignment that they couldn't fix, was meant to be resolved by today, but got the phone call to say they still haven't been able to sort it, despite all the guidance from head office tech experts....
So I have rejected the car that they've already registered in my name with my no plate on it before I have driven it. Not prepared to take the risk on a brand new car they can't fix. Dealership couldn't be more apologetic, and have been very helpful I've been given a fully loaded X640d to use until they can source another car, hopefully there will also be some sort of compensatory offer thrown in as well..... Very frustrating all the same. |

Brand new X5 and they couldn't get alignment? 2 possibilities here: 1. It was dropped from 10ft height during trailer unloading (unlikely) 2. It's a M-Sport nicely optioned with good color combo etc. and dealer's wife put an eye on it - so they feed you "can't align" or "oh, no, it came without a fuel tank" stories Either way - just look for another one, you can't beat dealer's wife. |

Sorry about that one man. Are they able to source you a MY 2018 or will you miss a production slot?

Apparently, they've found another one, identical spec to the one I was meant to collect, in the same colour as well.....
Took a photo of the V5 so that I have the chassis no. I will obviously expect the chassis no of the new one to be different to the one I have on this V5 |

Had a Dodge Dakota fall off a train and get donated to our high school auto shop...rear was totaled but the front was pristine. A lot of kids in the hood learned how to strip a Dodge's drain plug threads. Needless to say this Dakota had 5 million oil changes, brakes, suspensions, engine rebuilds, etc. without ever driving a mile.
