New Owner | E90 ZCP
Hi all! I'm excited to share that I just picked up an E90 ZCP and have officially joined the club here.
I had an E46 M3 (2005, CB/Cinn, 6MT coupe, Dinan S3+) for the last 6 years, but with our first child it was time to swap the coupe/6MT for a sedan/DCT. This thing's as much fun as I can still justify! The E46 was built up so it was overall faster (both in acceleration and in the turns if the pavement was smooth) and more fun (see here: http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showt...ghlight=wyatth). But the E90 is a great chassis and the S65 is a gem of an engine. I will miss the E46 but this E90 will be a ton of fun and I am anxious to dial it in. I'll continue to share my thoughts/comparisons over time. Onto the car ... - 2011.75 - Alpine White w/ Black Novillo and Carbon trim - Competition, Comfort/Tech, and Premium Packages, DCT, slicktop - 47K, California car it's entire life, bought it from fellow member surfguitar41. - Stock with the exception of (1) OE M Performance Wheel, (2) 359Ms powder coated gunmetal, (3) Huper Optik ceramic tint, (4) OE shadowline trim, and (5) some halos. I flew down to LAX early yesterday morning and we finished the paperwork around noon, at which time I began the drive back home to Walnut Creek. The car is clean, tight, and strong. No surprises, considering it got a perfect bill of health from the EAS PPI (thanks again, Kevin!). The map shows part of my route back yesterday. Leaving LA, I took the 10 to Santa Monica, then up the PCH towards Malibu. I cut in via Malibu Canyon Road and hopped on the Mulholland Highway through the "Snake," a favorite area of mine from when I lived down there. I then got on the 101 towards Ventura and from there (after some fish tacos at Spencer Makenzie's) I took Highway 33 through Ojai and eventually hopped on I5 around Buttonwillow for the rest of the way. Highway 33 north of Ojai is my new favorite stretch of tarmac, anywhere. It's nuts how nice that road is - a perfect mix of tight turns, sweepers, and straights, empty (at least on a Tuesday, and either way plenty of turnouts), smooth pavement, great visibility, and pretty scenery. An outstanding drive home! Home safe n' sound after a long day. Happy motoring, Wyatt Last edited by wyatth; 06-24-2018 at 07:58 PM.. |

Congrats! The car looks like a fantastic example, and what better way to get to know it than a drive like that one.

Another E46 M convert, welcome! I remember seeing your old car on the forums when I was researching S3's. I switched earlier this year and like the E90 M much more - it just does everything really well!

congrats, just bought a 2011.5 AW E90 ZCP as well. It really is just a well rounded car and so much fun to drive. When you think about what your getting for the price point, its a great deal.

Nice, the drive home must have been a blast. I really dig those gray ZCP wheels, i am going to get mine done in similar color.

Thanks, guys!
Shoot me a PM if you are interested in a trade. The anthracite looks great (and I love the OE 18s) but I think I will look for stock silvers since I am boring like that. Last edited by wyatth; 06-21-2018 at 12:33 PM.. |
