DCT - Lurching in 1st gear
So I had my DCT replaced and now I'm getting a lurching motion of the car when starting up from a dead stop i.e., red light and it's only in first gear. I experienced it a few times before the 1,200 service but it seems more frequent with the new transmission. It's not a matter of adding more gas as the lurching get worse if I don't let up, what I've been doing is letting it settle for a bit as several car pass me by and stare and seems to be fine after that, no error codes.

True. I hope for him that they fix everything once and for all with no latency errors.

This is not a DCT problem.
It really is as simple as learning to drive a car with a low 1st gear and a sensitive throttle. You can get into a small feedback type of situation where you let off just a hair then the car decelerates but you (your body and leg) continue to accelerate thereby pressing the gas pedal even more, you then get in a small loop. First try to brace your foot against the transmission tunnel on the RHS when really mashing it. This will help prevent any unwanted foot movements. Second turn the throttle mapping from Sport Plus down to Sport or from Sport down to normal. Quote:

That used to happen to me all the time when I first drove SMG... watch your foot position. Too much lateral angle will make it easier for your foot to give. The software for DCT is much improved compared to SMG and doesn't get into that feedback loop nearly as much.

Very common on the E46 M3 on Sport throttle when hitting bumps. The solution was to give more throttle, not less.

Taking your foot off the gas or shifting would also work.
