OEM DCT Software
Curious how I can find out if I have the latest DCT image on my 2011 and if not do the dealers charge to flash this?
Thanks |

The dealer can check your DME version, and yes, they can update it if necessary (usually charge one hour of labor). Why do you need new DCT software?

I had read the DCT had some updates but wasn't sure if it stopped at the 2011 models and as a second owner, was just curious if it would have had the latest software ...

Like the guys says, a dealer can read your key to determent sw version in a blink. Depending on what month the car is build they will read out something like ISTA/P - 2.41.0 - E89X-11-03-501 (not updates list but you get the drift, https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=797020
This include a number of different modules i.e. ECU, DCT etc etc. I did a complete update on all modules. Not sure even the dealer can separate but their tool simply update where new sw is available. If you're on original I suggest its def worth doing although the dealer usually are hesitant. Oh, and if on original sw it will take a number of hours to get updated (x their rate). |
