Quad exhaust tips on 35i w/msport

So I've searched the forum for this, but all I can find is people doing full exhaust. I'm not interested in doing a full exhaust mod, nor do I need any change in exhaust note, but I would love to have quad tips. I think aesthetically it looks much better than what comes standard. Anyone changed to quad tips only, no muffler delete or muffler mod?

Do you have the straight or trapezoidal tips? Seems like any competent muffler shop could cut and weld quad tips on there for you.

They are the trapezoidal ones.
Pretty sure it should be a straightforward mod, nothing overly complicated. I was just curious if anyone else had done it. I'm pretty sure I could do it myself to be honest. Just get a sawzall and take them off, attach quads with clamps and fasteners or weld them.

M sport tips can be cut and weld with 3" ID to quad 3" OD directly.

Hey thanks for posting these pictures as well.
Were these tips off of eBay or amazon or a different site? Thanks again

I think quads on MSport bumper look great!
I picked Porsche Cayenne replicas, but their pile angle could not fit perfectly on it.
So I had to open the holes for width + weld them onto the muffler with a slight upward tilt.
My mod thread does include pics and a video of the welding. All worth it in my opinion to avoid the trapezoid chrome tips.

Thanks I will look again to find your mod thread.
I agree, the quad tips just give a more aggressive rear end. Were your reps expensive?

I got the tips for $300 plus $300 for installation (including muffler)...2 people working for 3 hours as the space available was challenging.

Oh ok thanks.
Also I'm an idiot lol, I actually seen your thread and didn't put two and two together. You did a great job on your X5! Also you are I. An area that gets quite a bit of snow as well, how is your front lip holding up?

Ebay
Yeah I seen these(or very similar) on eBay as well. I think I would want to paint them if I got them, but they seem like a very easy option.

With betalink they hold up perfectly.
I lost my first one "in the wild". 3M tape not enough to hold it together, so I got another one and it's glued/bolted perfectly.
No experience in snow yet.
"Can't wait" to see how Eibach and front lip will work on it....may need to start renting it as a plow!

Haha that's why I'm hesitant to get one, my street gets plowed last and I don't want to be the unofficial snow plow for my neighbourhood.
Maybe I will wait and see how yours fairs in the snow before I make my final decision lol

Truth be told: our snow totals up here have diminished substantially (less frequent high snow totals). On one hand this is good (less hassle to shovel\plow), on the other it's not as snow really provides the water we drink and water our lawns up here. Overall, it's not good for the ecosystem of the Great Lakes.

So to confirm. If you are replacing the tips for quad tips and I have a 50i M-Sport. Then the Inlet needs to be 3"?
