Yes it's telling you to slow down because you've exceeded ECO Pro efficient speeds. Also notice the blue arrow directly under "eco pro" it's also telling you your using too much power. Just try it out next time. Slow down and watch it go away.

When you go above a certain speed in eco pro mode and take your foot off the gas, you'll notice that the revs don't drop for coasting as they would at a lower speed. In my 35i, the cutoff for the coasting rpms in eco pro is 80mph. I get that symbol when I'm above 80 and ecopro coasting feature is disabled.

I believe default mph for 35i eco mode is 75mph. That being said, speed limits on interstate 75 by me is 70mph so I've change the eco mode max mph to 78. I set cruise control early in the morns on my way into work and push the easy button.

I've played around with mine while driving and the cutoff on my speedometer is currently either 79 or 80. I bought the car used so maybe it was changed from 75 by previous owner? Is it possible to move it higher? I do a lot of highway miles and many of those are moving with the flow of traffic just over 80. I'd like to have the coasting feature of eco pro continue to activate thru 85mph if possible. I have a 2015 if that matters for how to go about changing the mph limit. Can it be changed in idrive? Thanks for any help in advance😀

I know you can adjust it in idrive under your eco pro mode settings though I think 80 is the highest it will let you go... At 80 You have a 50% eco potential... if I remember that correct.

Thanks!

Too bad 80 is the top limit. It's nice to have the coasting feature when traffic is moving smoothly at speed, especially on the slight downhill sections. The coasting feature is really the only reason I use eco pro mode.

You should still be able to use the feature regardless of your speed as long as it's in ecopro mode, though it will not be as efficient and it will keep telling you to slow down... but who cares lol

My coasting feature in eco pro wont engage once I hit 80. Not a big deal. Probably a safety feature. I shouldn't be at those speeds on the highway for long periods anyway.

I turned off the speed limit warning on eco pro mode so now it doesn't show the warning.

Never used Eco Pro. Only switched to by accident once when trying to turn off stability control.

Eco Pro? Nein! I hit mine from time to time when I am putting my Yeti 32ozer in the cup holder.

Coasting feature? Is this just when the eco mode gauge shows "charging" as you're coasting?

Actually, they are 2 separate things. When Coasting, the RPM drops to idle around 700rpm and no charge for battery, transmission decouples from the engine so the car moves forward just like it in Neutral. This maybe speed dependent option in EcoPro

The other one is charging when you not stepping on gas pedal or lightly press on the break.

I personally think the tangible benefit is negligible, but on the intangible side, you feel good hugging trees in EcoPro after burning a lot of oil in Sport mode!

lol, this actually explains a lot. My wife made a comment over the weekend "your tailgating the car in front of you". I was like "all I'm doing is coasting". No wonder I couldn't stay off his bumper.

Actually, I have a "Smile for Camera" bumper sticker so the other driver would feel good having a nice picture just in case.... rear-ending me!!!

I googled it. "eco pro" in German translates to "no fun".

Makes sense.

When it says charging, it's not coasting. It needs to say Coasting Freewheel
