Went in for oil change, came out with new M3

Went in to my local BMW dealer for my last free oil change before my lease turn in on my f10 550. While enjoying free coffee at the dealership, my CA found me and we discussed possibilities for my 550's replacement since my lease would be up at the end of February 2019. He had me try out a new M550i and it was quite underwhelming. It was a very nice car but drove almost identical to my f10 550 and still lacked any semblance of steering or road feel. We then priced out a 2018 M5 but he came back with a lease payment of ~$1,700/month, no thank you. He then told me they had a couple of 2018 M3's on the lot and one of them was an individual color option. The car was one of the no charge individual color option in Daytona Violet. Once I saw it, I was hooked. He ended up taking my 550 back in 5 months early and gave me a pretty good deal on the M3.

Here are the specs:

Daytona Violet
Black Extended Merino Leather
Competition Package
19" 437M wheels
Driving Assistance Package
Executive Package
DCT
Active Blind Spot Detection
Apple Car Play and wireless charging

So far I'm over the moon and loving the way it drives especially after my 550. Without further ado, her she is (sorry for the crappy iPhone pics):

I'M SUPER JEALOUS! First of all, I considered the F10 550i before I got the F80 and I even test drove one. I think you will be VERY happy with this!

Second of all, I'M SUPER JEALOUS because my lease is also up early 2019 and I really want to get into another M3. Unfortunately they will be out of production by then and M cars don't have a pull ahead like your 550i, so I will be "stuck" with a M4 (lol).

Third of all, I love that the last of the M3's have a no-charge individual color. I really really wish I could take advantage of this.

ENJOY!!

congrats that color is very cool and the lease deals are definitely attractive on them now. I personally think the M5 is 1200-1300/mo car.

It’s definitely way more exciting and involving to drive than my 550.

I definitely like the 437s better than the 666s and they’re a little more forgiving on our surface of the moon roads in Michigan.

The funny thing is I ended up with my 550 in a similar way when my dealer was offering free $15 Starbucks gift cards if you came in and looked around.

Here in the Los Angeles area, I found 6 no charge individual colors. Two Imola red, one Daytona violet, and three Avis blue M3s in the immediate area I was searching. I ended up getting an Avis Blue on SO interior on October 1st and got a tad bit over 8% off before incentives and took advantage of Costco incentive on the last day possible. If I didn't end up searching the different dealers around me, I would not have noticed these cars sitting on the lots waiting to be snatched up. It was fairly easy to find and deal for even here in Los Angeles, so with a little bit of work you could still find them around.
