Emergency brake loud pop
Had this happen for the first time this morning (cold). I usually pull up fairly hard on the ebrake, and it made a very loud popping sound as if something had almost snapped or gave way. Everything seems fine and subsequent ebrake pulls seemed fine. Any ideas?

Were you engaging or disengaging brake when it popped? If the latter, you probably didn't pull up enough before pushing button?

Think anything was dislodged, re: springs? Think it needs to be looked at? Hasn't happened anymore since this morning, been driving and parking quite a bit since. |

You probably engaged it right on the edge of a handbrake "gear land" and it slipped off into the next groove. The "pop" can be loud and "violent" if you were engaging the handbrake with some force. Nothing to worry about.
