Your case is similar to mine. I have "J". So I will be updating to the latest patchable firmware which is "P". I'm just waiting for my enet cable so I can do the remote update, then the widescreen patch 😝

After updating to new firmware will that remove our previous settings/patches?

let's say i update from J to P. the current wide screen patch is only good for version n, o and p. as long as i dont update to q, i'm good. one day when there is a patch for q and i decide to update my firmware, i'll get a discounted price for the q patch.

but my current firmware today is j. other then wanting to have widescreen, it works perfectly fine. i'm hoping, i wont need/want a newer patch anytime soon.

ohh on a side note, i've done alot of bimmercode changes. i hoping these wont need to be re-coded. but if so, it's easy to redo.

How does updating NBT Evo work? Is that done with E-sys and Full psdZ etc? Or is it a separate process?

Totally separate. You need to run the program then save FSC and send to facmap who will return a file to install in your car.
You need to be on Idrive 5 for it to work as well.

Yes your correct. Final step is to apply the patch onto your updated firmware. This patch is applied via usb but is coded only for your vin.
