Does your Door Auto Lock during takeoff ?

just took PC delivery Monday and all I can say was
WOW! What a great time at PC and driving the baby back home.

I do have one question to all you new M3 owners out there?

Does your Door Auto Lock during take off ? ... bcoz I know my last e46 M3 does and this one should too, I cant seem to find where to enable it at the control stalk or iDrive Console. Dealer wants me to bring it in, maybe I can save the time and trip with your guys help.

Congrats to fello M3 bimmeristas out there! btw

(and also to note I was next to a Porsche Turbo GT at the traffic light awhile ago, I was wondering who can take who, any takers?

yes you can set that up from the idrive. If you press menu to get it into the start screen, then push down on the idrive controller you will get to the settings menu. Its in there.

Its in the I-drive settings. If I remember right...

Settings / Vehicle / Door Locks / Central Locking / Lock after driving

exactly, you can also programm it to unlock all doors on the the first push of the remote instead of push twice for the passenger door to open.

yeah I'm also having trouble with the "rolling code" my garage door uses. I can open the gate fine because it uses a static code, but for right now I still use my garage door opener because I couldn't get it to sync

Anyone have experience with this? I don't have the manual to my garage opener so I can't read what it says about the rolling code.

Does anyone know the process for programming an opener that uses a rolling code? I'd like to get these ugly things off my sun visor.

Thanks

To program my rolling code garage door opener this is what finally worked for me. You might need an assistant. No problem…. my wife is still smiling after buying the M3.

1. Programmed the Integrated Universal Remote Control using the same method described in the M3 manual (Page 109 – M3 M-DTC manual). Follow the directions under “Fixed Code Hand Held Transmitters”. When your mirror button is programmed you still need to “teach the receiver” the code from you car.

2. This where you might need your assistant. My garage door opener is a Chamberlain – Lift Master model. To teach the receiver there should be a “learn” button on the back of the motor housing. I used the directions on page 31 for the garage door opener (I have attached the manual). If yours is a different model Chamberlain here is the link to their manuals.
http://www.liftmaster.com/consumerweb/service/manuals

To review: Teach the car’s button then teach the garage door receiver.

Hope this helps.

Teaching the mirror buttons in the car was very frustrating, but after reading the garage door opener manual it was very simple. Also my first attempts erased the receiver’s memory for all of the hand held remotes and I had to re-teach the code for each.
