Cool What Do You Tow with your X5?

I've recently installed a tow hitch on my '15 xDrive35d and was curious what do other X5 owners on this forum tow with their vehicles? Some tips and recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Also pictures are welcomed!

I don't tow but had seen a X5 towing a 23-26' air stream, quite cool looking.

I tow a 15 foot aluminum boat. With trailer gas and accessories tops out at 1,600 lbs. Easiest way to gauge total weight is just drive onto a truck scale at a truck stop for a few bucks. You unhook the rig and drive the X5 off before they weigh it. I don’t even know the rig is on the back while driving. I use the Invisihitch. Next upgrade I’ll probably just let the dealer install their hideaway hitch. Was a pain in the ass installing it myself in my backyard.

Haven't towed anything with this X5.... but with the earlier X5 I drug an open trailer with a 993 track car. Trailer, car, tools, and other related stuff was probably 5,000 pounds. Did a very nice job of it.

Nice! Quick question: since you also have Invisihitch, do you know how can I get a second ball mount that fits our setup? I've been told they went out of business..

Exactly the reason I've just purchased a Stealth hitch.

I don't know about that, you could call as they are very helpful. Check classified section for Invisihitch parts. I didn't find anything on eBay.

Trees, dirt, bricks, furniture, whatever I need for a project and I don't want to put in my car, I use a trailer.

I usually just rent one from Uhaul when I need it. I don't own a trailer or anything permanent that requires one.

Basically as spacious as the trunk may be, I don't want to clean it up.

The most I towed with my SDrive35i was a U-Haul aluminum flatbed trailer with a 328 convertible on it.

6000lbs Camper trailer.. no problem at all with my 35d, just make sure you get a brake controller on the trailer. I got the BMW wiring harness and updates to iDrive so that I can zoom in on the hitch. But the BMW hitch is no good as the ball is only 2", ended up with a Curt hitch which works very well.
