Traded in my 2018 M3 for a 2019 X5 40i

so i got a nail in my tire a few weeks back and while in for service i was walking around the showroom and was blown away by the new x5 interior. salesman started talking to me and yesterday i drove by and traded my m3 for the x5. before you guys kill me; we are expecting our fourth (yes fourth) child in a few weeks so i needed something that could potentially fit the entire family in a pinch.

but i've also come to realize, after being honest with myself, that 99% of my driving is sitting in traffic. so i can sit down in stiff seats with a jarring suspension, or sit in ventilated, massaged, comfort seats while the car drives itself while staring at my swarovski crystal shifter

anyways, my eventual goal is keep this car and pick up a fun car. thinking either a 2013ish 911 or a e46 m3.

i'm still blown away that these cars have almost the same exact msrp (within $100 of each other). i realize that all the money in the m3 went towards engine/suspension/etc and the x5's went into luxury. maybe i'm just getting old

We just had our 1st (7 months old) and I gave in to my wife and got her an X3 (I hate SUVs). She loves it and I can see how it is an easier vehicle with kids. I tolerate it but I just love my ///M car and would rather drive that any day over her SUV.

We feel that we have a nice stable. Race car for me and SUV for baby duty/winter/Skiing.

I traded my X3 for my M3, and I AM old. 70 next month. Probably my third or fourth mid to late life crisis.

I made the mistake of buying a SUV. Only kept it 8 months before I sold it. I hate SUV’s lol.

Now that I am married I’ll be buying a SUV again but this time it’s for the wife.

lol i wish... i really wish i had a 3 car garage. once i do i'm going to pick up a fun manual transmission car; most likely a cayman or maybe m3
