Spark Plug Change Time!!

I am at 30,000 miles and it's time for me to change out the spark plugs. I saw ECS selling OEM and Bosch plugs. OEM selling at $135 and Bosch at $113.70. Is there a reason for the price difference. I read that the OEM is the Bosch brand. Of course I want to get the cheaper Bosch plugs but wanted to know the reason why. If these are OEM replacements, then I assume they are pre-gapped at the factory recommended .028"?

Thanks

They are prob the same but for a $20 difference it's a no brainer to go with oem imo. Small difference in price for something that only needs to be done every 30k miles.

Why not get the spark plugs through FCP Euro, and take advantage of their lifetime replacement program?

Spark plugs are not a lifetime item though. I can see how this is beneficial for other parts though.

I read that Bosch = OEM, not sure about NGK though

quick question off topic here, i am at 34k miles and have track day next month, do you think that could be a problem? I was planning to wait until i tune the car at the end of the year....

Wait till you get a tune and change the plugs with the appropriate gap spec. The tuner will recommend what kind of plugs you need.

The Bosch plugs are now at a lower price. More tempted to get the Bosch plugs now.

NGK 95770 is the equivalent to the OEM plugs. It's what I run. Gapped to .022.

For those changing plugs at the ~30k service interval, why not take it to the dealer and have them swap it?

Only reason I can fathom is that the OP bought his 2016 M4 used and the original 4 year/50,000 free maintenance did not transfer. Otherwise, seems pretty stupid to me to pay for the plugs and go through the hassle of replacing them yourself. I had the spark plugs changed on my 2016 M4 in the spring, at no charge, when I had the 3 year/30,000 mile service done. In my final year of free maintenance.

You are correct. I bought my M4 used and the free maintenance package did not transfer. I've worked on a few cars in the past including Civics and Evo X's so changing spark plugs seem very easy, just time consuming as you need to remove a ton of items to get to them.
