Launch Control w/ DCT

If the car has the DCT transmission but does not have the technology package, does it still have the launch control feature?

Since no one answered the question, the answer is "Yes".

All you need for launch control is to turn DSC off (button next to shifter) and put the car in S6 (button directly behind shifter). Then do the LC procedure as normal.

I am leaning toward M-DCT and also toward a non-ZTP car. So this will very likely be my setup.

Thank you for answering, since the first 2 posters apparently couldn't read the question.

I just did my first launch control today and is quite a ride..
Im past the 1200 break in period and the service as well and if your M settings are with TC off and all sport modes.. the only thing u need to do at a red light is press ur M button, move the stick forward press the gas all the way down and just let go the stick. but not the gas... .
its quite a ride and the first reaction is to let the gas off and you will lose all the fun
automatic shifts are at the red line and they are very agressive

Actually, put it in S6 (all bars lit), kill the DSC, push forward on lever, mash gas, let go, hold on for dear life, figure how much money you just spent on fuel and tires

I did one today that probably cost $35. Totally worth it.

When you launch in S6, the car will still upshift if you have the throttle down completely. Auto-shifting stops after you let off.

I'd just be happy if one DCT thread was completed without some cock-holster telling us all that the stick is better. Gets really old.

WE GET IT. YOU ARE BETTER THAN US. WE HAVE CRAP CARS.

I have only seen a couple cars here with M-DCT but without ZTP. It's going to be a somewhat unusual combo I think for the simple reason that most people who buy into the tech of that tranny won't be able to resist more of the same. I like it. Are you getting EDC?

Doing this is not recommended. Just like dropping the clutch in a MT, you may get a bit sideways. Not kosher on 99.995% of surface streets.

I've been doing as much as I can. Depends if I feel like going to BFE to do it safely.

And BTW, for the OP. The steps I listed above work with or without the Tech Package. Launch Control is a function of the tranny, not the other techno doodads.

You mean like with a software update or something? Current cars definitely don't have that capability.

launch control is only available with S6, and for that you must have DSC off. which brings to my next question. without ZTP how can you get into S6. i only see as part of m drive. there are only 5 bars on the screen, so how would you know whether or not you are in S6?
