Lift or stands needed for brake fluid service?

As the title says, do I need to put the car on jackstands to do the brake fluid flush, or can I lift each side at a time and use a vacuum tool?
Is there any reason the car needs to be level/raised completely?

I just went the jack stand route. Once you see the Jack point in the front it's easy to get the stands in. Worth the extra effort for piece of mind. And you may want to do a second time if the pedal isn't firm or if you wan to cycle the abs at each corner via ISTA. So why risk it.

I always thought it was best to have the corner that you are bleeding raised higher than the others, starting with passenger side rear and working way to the diver front last.

Interesting schools of thought, I’d like to see more arguments. I already have two ESCO jack stands and I’ll get two more if the reasons are compelling enough (I’m starting to run out of garage *******

You don't need to lift the whole car. You can just jack up one wheel at a time, but you'll need to remove the wheel to get access to bleeder.

That’s what I thought. I’ll be fine with just lifting one axle at a time.

Yup - Use the following order:
  1. Passenger Rear
  2. Driver Rear
  3. Passenger Front
  4. Driver Front

If you have time to kill, take it for a spin and do several high speed threshold stops to invoke ABS. Then repeat the bleed sequence. Assumes you don't have a means to cycle the ABS with the car parked.

This will do absolutely nothing.......

Well, other than putting yourself at risk for a ticket.
