2 layers of PPF in rear fender?

Has anyone doubled up with Xpel in that area? Basically 2 layers sitting ontop of each other? Worth it? Wonder what it looks like?

probably better off doing 1 layer. waiting for it to get worn down over time, then replacing it later with a fresh one.

I've had one layer of PPF on the rear fender and it held up well enough on both F80s I had. One layer is sufficient, there's no need to apply two layers. I presume you could run one layer and once it takes enough abuse you can remove it and swap it out with another.

2 is def overkill. 1 is adequate. I've got about 20 to 25k miles on mine and they dont look bad at all.

It looks really weird when it bunches up due to pitting of rocks. I don't think dual or single ply would make a difference in that area.

larry from ammo did that on his porsche. 2 layers so he could replace it when it got too damaged without having to do the whole panel

But didn't he do the whole car and then only a second layer on the rear fender. That's a little different than just applying 2 layers of the same size on top of each other.

I think 2 layers would be dull and noticable. Even more so on a white car.

Yes - I put two layers of Xpel on that area. Focused there on my CS after my ZCP got sandblasted on the hips even with factory protection film. Full car wrap and then one layer on top at that location similar to the OEM factory protection but larger. Looks great and is less noticeable than the factory film section.

Might not need two layers but I would definitively take off the factory film and wrap the whole fender or at minimum double the size of the area covered.
