Does this m3 sound normal?

Is this how a normal m3 is supposed to sound? There’s a slightly loud ticking noise.

Its hard to tell in the video, but it sounds pretty normal to me. The ticking is a little louder than usual but not that bad. These engines have somewhat noisy valvetrain and injectors and that's what it sounds like to me. I don't hear any rod knock in the video.

It could also be a slight exhaust leak, or possibly the type of oil used.

If you have this car in your possession, I'd change the oil to the OEM Oil (Castrol Edge Supercar 10W-60 or BMW twin power turbo 10W60) and double check the exhaust for leaks. After that, see if the sound improves.

Sounds normal, if you’re worried about rod bearings...you would heard more of a knocking/tapping sound, not ticking

Sounds normal except some accessory belt noise maybe if anything.

Sounds normal to me. I have a 2013 e92 M3 at 31k. It sounds about the same.

Mine sounds like this as well, 2008/02 with 119k km.
