Battery discharged

So I got this warning today. I have seen the increased battery discharge warning before, but this is the first time I got the full out "Battery Discharged" warning.

Does this mean the battery will fail soon even after driving? I.e take a picture and try to have it replaced under warranty (the car is 1.5y old). It doesn't get driven a lot especially in the last month.

Garage List
Driving your car, especially a longer drive without a lot of stop and go will charge your battery pretty effectively. However, you may not be able to do this currently (pun intended).

Do you have a garage and park your car in your garage? If so, do you lock it every time you park the car? If you don't lock your car it can take ~10 minutes before everything gets powered down. Locking your car powers down everything immediately and helps prevent battery drain.

If you have a garage the best solution if you're not driving it during the pandemic shut-down is to get a CTEK Lithium Ion battery charger and keep it plugged in. Lots of posts about this charger, do a search for more info.

I have the same issue as I live very centrally and close to all my stops in general and especially during this time. i get that warning upon getting in the car most times and if the ride is too short like just to grab a bottle or some take out etc then it will go off after parking it back in the garage. If I go for a longer drive and make a few stops and don't shut it off in between the warning goes away. this is on a brand new battery as well as the previous one was replaced by BMW right before I bought the car. they told me some story about the battery being $2k to replace. seems crazy but with BMW OEM who knows...

Thanks guys. I think I will buy the tender for the month. It's only 100 bucks. I just wanted to make sure I didn't completely kill the battery since it says it is fully discharged rather than warning that it has been discharging.
