2018 price inquiry F80 comp, dct, under 15k miles

What pricing are y'all seeing out there?

I'm seeing vehicles basically right at $58-60k for these vehicles with no CPO attached.

I'm wondering what the negotiating floor is on this spec and trim.

Considering Exec pkg, DCT, Comp, super clean and super low miles.

Thoughts?

Seems pretty high. I would aim for low 50s in this environment. FWIW I got my 2018 81k F80 for 67k when new in dec 2018.

I was thinking that price should be with a long extended warranty.

Otherwise, I agree low $50s...maybe $52,53,54 at most

I am looking for similar specs and am seeing prices in the high 50s as well, which I think is a little much.

I am waiting for the prices to fall in the used car market from Corona, as it seems the values on the trade in side have already started going down.

Under 15k miles with full options for 51k? That sounds more like one with 20-30k miles. Unless it's 2015-2017 model with less packages (like no executive or comp) under 15k miles...guess it also depends where you live supply and demand lol

That's under the prices being mentioned...

I was just trying to get clarity that a dealer posting a fully loaded '18 with super low miles for around $58-59 (high $50's) seems about $5k too high unless it comes with a long warranty.

That's what my "internal Corona meter" is telling me...But that's just like my opinion man 😎

Given the environment, I would expect to see them a little under that. Mid $50k sounds about right.

I got my 2018 in September 2019 for $61k:
2018 M3 DCT in Mineral White/Black extended Merino
17k miles
Competition Package
M Performance Package (front splitter, rear spoiler, rear diffuser, CF mirror caps)
MPE with carbon tips
Executive Package
Driving Assistant Package
Heated rear seats/Blind Spot/Car Play/Stainless pedals/LED door projectors
Also came with the Ultimate Care+ plan up to 5 yr/75k

Was it a CPO? What was the cost of ultimate care+ ? You got this added in the total price of 61K?

Not CPO, and the Ultimate Care+ was just pure luck on my part. I asked about paying the fee to transfer it in my name when I was negotiating for the car and they ran a check and apparently when the previous owner bought the additional 2 years they never put the plan in his name. So BMW just put my name on it and waived the transfer fee.

I got the car for $61k out the door. Took a little bit of back and forth but I was trading my car in, as well as financing through them so they were making money on me 3 ways which made it a little easier.

I was going to say that's a pretty damn good deal but with trade in, assuming you were on the upside, that makes total sense.

Check the Members Classified and Car Sales/Lease Takeovers. Once again unless it's pre-2018 model like 2017 or older, it sounds very rare to get a 2018 fully loaded with under 15k miles for 51-53k, unless it's a less popular color combination or it doesn't have a certain option package. Keep in mind 2018 got an upgraded iDrive with Touchscreen with some cosmetic changes. To some these are minor changes, but the market prices 2015-2017 differently from 2018. 55-62 seems to be the general price range for 2018 fully loaded with under 15k miles (with no trade ins)...but hey if you can get one for low 50s prove me wrong and you got one hell of a deal!

I would imagine in this environment/market you could almost ask for anything and probably get it.

Depends on location of dealerships and allocations of inventory. Dealerships have been open and with low rates plus extra incentives, they aren't particularly doing bad enough to bend over for a sale. Also depends on what model vehicle you're looking into, depends on supply and demand, the market, and customer base. I would assume the customer base who was able to afford ///M cars before Covid19, can probably still afford it during the pandemic and Stay At Home orders.

The stock market has somewhat recovered. A lot of lower/mid class income people who filed for unemployment are getting free government aid money. Small businesses are getting their PPP loans. Stimulus checks. Low interest rates. Oh people are out there buying lol

Side note, with those specs you got a very good deal. Very good.

My friend who is a BMW sales person in the Midwest reports they are selling cars without issues right now. The low $50s on this spec are not here yet.

I just went thru a similar search. Sealed the deal about 3 weeks ago on a CPO 2017 M3 ZCP fully loaded (New MSRP $85k) 30k miles for $52k.

It's difficult to know what kind of headroom you have with price, each preowned vehicle is unique based on what the dealer paid (trade-in, auction/lease transfer, etc) and how much they have vested in the vehicle. CPO alone probably costs them >$1k then need to consider whether they replaced tires, battery, oil change, brakes, cosmetic repairs, etc. They have to consider all of this in final price. Also, don't assume that price is the only negotiable. For example, the tires on my car met the CPO requirements but were still relatively worn, so new tires were negotiated into the deal, as was a bit of curb rash correction. You can check the CarFax to see when the car became CPO, gives you an idea how long it's been sitting on the lot to help in negotiation. I found it much easier to negotiate locally. I got the sense when I inquired about a CPO M3 in another state the dealer was starting from the assumption that they had something I really wanted. Good luck!

For what it's worth, prices are already starting to fall. This 2017 M3 Jahre (with MPE) has been at BMW San Antonio for a few months now. It was originally listed at almost $69k and it's currently at $59k. I've watched it fall over the last 4 weeks

2017 M3 Jahre

So things are starting to drop. You might be able to get a 2018 for low-to-mid $50k eventually if you start haggling. Especially if it's a car they've struggled to move.

Edit: This 2017 Frozen Black M3 also at BMW San Antonio (they seem to get quite a few individual ones there from what I've noticed) has dropped about $5k down to $57k over the last few weeks as well

Similar pricing, but pretty sure they made it up on the trade

trade:
'17 ZCP with Exec package 31K mikes and heavily tracked (totally faded color front calipers was the give away)
They gave me 46K
Paid 59K for a '18 with 15K miles, M performance splitter, rear difussor, spolier, exhaust and all options but CCB + a CPO to 12/28/22 when the factory runs out in 12/21
That was in March, so betting you could do better now, but don't think anyone expected car pricing to tank like this.

Still could use this as a benchmark of what not to do - lol

The trade ins help. They'll make profit selling the 2017 you traded in haha

CPO is $2,800 or possibly $3,000 now. Plus the replacement of the items to bring it up to snuff. It is an investment for sure.

I know I would love to have a CPO for the piece of mind, but I also know that $3,000 to extend the warranty by a year is cray cray (meaning if I already had the car, I would NOT pay $3,000 for a one year warranty).
