What are you looking for? I test drove two 335i's before settling on an M3... They are two different cars dressed in similar looking sheet metal...errr carbon fiber/fiberglass

I went from ///M to 335 back to ///M. that should tell you what I think. I did a comparison a while back about going from an E46 M3 to the 335. If i can find it again, I'll put it up.

I've owned both and loved both. I did a lot of modifications on my 335 and it was a great car now owned by my brother in law. The 335 gets about 25% better mileage; this was comfirmed on a 600 road trip we did. Speed wise I would say that the Vishnu 3 tuned 335 may be a little faster in a straight line. The M3 really excells when it is pushed to the limit, and has just a fantastic though thirsty engine. The powers is absololutely linear and predictable. And finally the M3 also gets a lot of attention if that interests you.
To really compete with the M3 the 335 needs suspension upgrades - coilovers and sways - which I had. But even then it falls short a bit, and if you do a lot of work on the 335 you could have purchased an M3 instead. I've owned 5 BMWs including an e46M3 and my current car is my favorite to date. The car has way more cpaability than I have as a driver and that is what I am working on now.

I've tested both the 335 and M3. Gotta say that you can't go wrong with either. Just depends on what you want of your car. As great as the 335 is, you definitely get your money's worth with an M3.

LOL... Here's my review I guess, since I own a 335i and drove a M3 couple days ago. I really love the M3, it has always been my dream car. I actually got to test drive it couple days ago, and I really hate BMW for giving it so little power and torque! Honestly, the M3 did not feel like a 400+hp car, but of course I only took it to about 5000rpm. Right now, I am deciding on either getting a M3 or C63 for my next car. I have always been a BMW guy. I currently drive a 335i. My dad drove many BMWs and only one Merc in his life, and he only drove the Merc to try something different for once. My brother just bought a 535xi couple days ago. I never drove the C63, but from what I have heard it sounds like car that's really fun to drive on the road. It sounds like you just have to step on the gas and the car roars and blasts away. The M3, it doesn't feel like a powerful car, but it's a perfectly balanced car that's the king on the track. I don't think any 420hp car can beat it on the track. But of course, it feels less powerful than a 335i in everyday drive. Right now my decision is, I want to get the M3 because I love the M3, but I want to drive the C63.

Most people on this forum will think I'm simply an idiot; but, the 335i is extremely fun as a daily driver and I simply don't drive the M3 as much as I thought I would! Plus, the 14 mpg gets really old in my opinion. I only have 1172 miles on the M, and many friends say I need to really drive it after the break-in so I can see what the redline feels like. I'll probably put the next 30 miles on it this week and see what happens. The Porsche 911s has a test drive with my name on it this week too and I'm anxious to see if that car lives up to the hype!
