It was one the most exciting moments in my life last week when I picked up my M4 Comp. It is my first M / M level car and I couldn't stop feeling proud for getting myself into more debt! .

Well, Ms and AMGs, especially the C63s and M3s and the M4 after it came out have been my favorite cars for the last 12 years or so. I was driving a 2017 440i with MPPSK and other Cosmetic M Performance upgrades and I loved it but it was lacking some character! I really wanted a brand new F82 before the new G series came out. I could clearly see myself getting older with an F82 M4.

It was a tough call, I already owned a 440i and is the M4 worth the extra money? Plus the severe under valuation on my well maintained car that the dealer would try to convince me with the trade in

Well, what do you know, the very last BMW dealer in Melbourne who had stock, works a magic. Surprisingly, an honest and transparent car salesman and that's a first for me. I didn't have much choice with the colour, but that turned out just fine .

Proud to join the M club!

What I like the most when comparing with my 440i:
- All things M + Comp package, especially those lovely seats and wheels
- Analogue Display
- M Seat Belts
- Carbon Fibre Roof
- Can't really comment on the driving part yet (It might take a while even with running in given the stage 3 lockdown here )

What I miss when comparing with my 440i:
- Adaptive Cruise Control - Missing it already. Have to Manage with Cruise Control with Braking, which doesn't actually brake!
- That extra bit of comfort as a frequent city driver
- White colour seats and have noticed the bolsters to get dirty real soon.. Not looking forward to that!
- My personal seatbelt butler, have loved them since the E92s
- this is a dumb one IMO, the wireless charger doesn't fit my Samsung S10+ or my wife's iPhone10 XS, so useless pretty much.
- Another first for me - The actual VIN number of my car (last 7 digits and the whole 17 as well) belongs to another car!. Have searched pretty much all VIN decoding sites - it either comes up as an E46 318i M43 or cannot find VIN.
Got a chassis lookup from the dealer and checked on connected drive and everything seems to be in order. Still, this doesn't set well with me.

P.S. Thanks to all you guys for I have learnt so much in bimmerpost, which influenced my decision to buy an F82 M4 to an extent . Cheers

Beautiful car! Congratulations!

Are you sure you aren't mistaking a 5 for an S or a 0 for an O?

Ugh the exact spec I spent 6 months trying to find. Eventually settled on a non-ZCP BSM/black. Beautiful car, congrats OP and welcome to the club

Congratulations! Beautiful car and I think you’ll grow to love the Silverstone leather! It has really grown on me and I get a ton of compliments. I did get the alcantara M Performance armrest which nicely adds to the interior.

Totally agree about the analog gauges! Nice, simple, easy-to-read and classy.
