16 Years Later...

Hi everyone,

I first fell in love with the M3 when my cousin had an E46 M3 with a manual trans. It was 2004 and I was 16 years old and a car nerd to put to lightly. I remember practicing how to drive a manual in front of my computer while
reading tutorials . I wish I could see how silly I looked then. I wanted drive a stick so bad and he was kind and generous to let me learn on his M3. Since then I've had the bug...I told myself one day I was going to own an M3. Fast forward 16 years later, and now I will be buying the car or my dreams. I'm still pinching myself!

To justify my purchase, I'll be consolidating down from 2 cars to 1. (Ram Truck and Miata). I already sold the Miata and my Ram lease goes back at the end of the month.

My Criteria: 4 Doors w/ Manual Transmission. So the M3 only made sense to me! I needed something to haul the wife and kids and a toy all in one.

So I've been stalking the forums for some time. I came across a deal I couldn't pass up on a low mileage 2016 YMB M3 with a manual transmission. I will be driving out of state to pick it up next Thursday so no sleep until then...

Since the vehicle is out of warranty I'm having a PPI completed at a BMW dealership and if it all checks out I will pick it up next week.

I'm beyond excited and will post pics when I get it.

I picked up the vehicle from Ohio and drove it home to Michigan yesterday. I got home last night and Just spent all morning cleaning her up. I am in love. She Is a real gem. Photos as promised...

Congrats! I similarly grew up and a buddy had an E36 M3, and I had a E46 M3 poster on my bedroom wall. I was about 18 at the time.

Flash forward today, I'm 36 and bought my dream car of today (within my budget &#128514 the M4.

It really is fulfilling to pickup a car like any M and call it your own.

There are 1,695 YMB M3s total in the US which is surprising because they seem to pop up all the time on these forums.

I just bought the following parts today:

Black Comp Pkg Exhaust Tips
Black Comp Pkg ///M3 Trunk Badge

By next spring, I'd like to upgrade some of the interior bits with M-Performance Alcantara parts (V2 steering Wheel, 6MT shifter, center console, park brake etc).

In the meantime I'm just going to enjoy it.

Food for thought, don't be put off by a high asking price as you shop M3's. Find the spec and car you like and try to work them down. You never know how motivated the seller is if you don't inquire. Worst case they say no and then you move on. Your going to have more wiggle room with private sellers like I did. Good luck and enjoy the chase. That's the best part!
