Long cranking when cold...
I just got my "new to me" 17 M4... Only has 3k miles. Been stored for most of its life. Anyway, When it sits for 2-3 days, it seems to crank too long to start...
Here's the video (iphone): https://photos.app.goo.gl/7DJw6QEyy1VsdgzF8 When it's warm, it's all fine. Cranks right up. It only happens when it sits for day or two... It's definitely not the battery as I had it checked plus it's on CTEK charger for lithium batteries. I had the dealer looked at it "we can't seem to find anything wrong with it. The fuel system checks out fine". Another dealer, before i purchased it, changed the spark plugs (even though the mileage does not require it, but it was part of the maintenance thing)... so i'm wondering if maybe they didn't gap them right... but would it do this when cold? It feels like a fuel/ignition issue where it doesn't just... "connect". Any ideas?

Mine is also stock. No mods. Did it twice to me... only when cold starting.

Clean your MAF, check idle control valve. That isn't right.

I agree that it shouldn’t be that long and it clearly does not sound normal. With such low mileage I didn’t think maf or anything else would need cleaning... To me, it sounds like either an ignition (of some sort) or fuel delivery issue. No codes... so hard to know where to start.

I saw that you're stock, but it would be nice to have something like BM3 for logging that startup.
I've heard that when it starts getting cold outside that a little moisture can sometimes collect at the O2 sensors and throw them off. Soon as they heat up the moisture blows off and they run normal. In this scenario I'd be watching the Lambda readings to see if they read weird on startup but normal soon after.
