NEED OPINIONS!!! 15' M4 Modded (no tune) VS 18

Any opinions are greatly appreciated!!! I'd like to hear back from y'all. I'm looking to get a used BMW M4 very soon. It's been a dream car to get for a few years now.

I initially wanted to get an 18' or newer because of the upgraded head/taillights and since I'm planning to own the car for years, I want the car to have as many packages as possible (ZCP - Executive - Premium HK system - New iDrive).

The thing is I found a used 15' Marina Blue M4 with a white interior in a decent condition with only 21k miles on it for $45k (Negotiated down from $49k). The reason for the price is that the owner has BC racing suspension, 20-in aftermarket Vossen wheels, full AA valved exhaust system, MSR intakes, and all carbon fiber goodies (Pics Attached). However, the car doesn't have the HK sound system, ZCP (since it was produced in 17'), executive pack, or even apply carplay.

I really need everyone's opinions on whether I should wait and cop an 18' M4 with all packages and mod it over time or should I go for the 15' M4? Ofc I'm looking mainly for the performance with a 6MT trans but since it has been a dream car, I was thinking if I should consider buying a fully loaded one.

(My budget allows me to get up to $50k or so) However, I'm also planning to buy a race bike very soon so I might not use the whole budget.

you're comparing a stripper '15 with mods (that aren't worth much, we aren't talking BBS, HRE, or KW here) to a 2018 loaded with everything ? wait it out for a 2018. eventually prices will get to a mid 50s for a loaded one.

the '15 cars are better deals but at least get one that has all the main options if you want to go that route. lights, stereo, exec, 437m, adaptive susp.

Get the '18 and enjoy the process of building it yourself and creating something special as opposed to just buying an out of the box completed car. I'd take a loaded stock '18 over a modified stripper '15 any day of the week

If you have time and patience wait for an 18'.

If it's your dream car, don't compromise.

The 15 is way over priced. My lease buyout from BMW on my 17 was less than that. At the price point that you are shopping why not get what you want. Don't settle.

Thanks for your response! I guess I will wait to get a fully loaded one.

Yeah it's kinda over priced because of the mods the owner has done to the car. Other than that, it's way over the market value for the 15' M4 as of this moment.

Only worthwhile "cf goodie" on there is the spoiler. Mirror caps... barely anyone notices and IMO I think the side mirrors look better without.

Rest of the mods... eh not to my taste. Seems the coilovers were just used to 'stance' it (poorly) and I'm not liking those rims. Bet it rides terribly too.

Comp pack, executive package, HK sound system and a newer car is worth much more than those poorly chosen (IMO) mods.

The exhaust sounds cool, but you could always buy your own or do an aftermarket midpipe. You might be happy with the stock sound so don't rush into it. Not everyone wants their cars super loud.

Another vote to hold out for a 18, especially since your budget allows.

Don’t overpay someone else for the mods they chose, buy the ‘18 when you find it.

Get the 2018

1. Won't look as dated
2. The 2015 looks like the owner probably beat on it
3. Those options on the 2018 probably have much more value than those mods since they can't just be added on.
4. I believe there were some updates in 2018 to the adaptive dampers, steering, and MDM mode.
5. It will probably cost you less money to build your own stock fully loaded car and be more enjoyable than buying someone else's project for 47K :

I agree that the packages are worth more than those mods done to the car. The car drives great tho and it was garage-kept the whole time.

However, it's also great to think about saving the extra $10k or so and go for a 15' or 16'. It's really confusing me bro.

I agree with everything except that the car was garage-kept the whole time and the owner was driving it during weekends only.
