4 vs 6 pots front to match with OEM rear?

Sorry to make another BBK post, I was thinking about AMG/Alfa Romeo front 6 retrofit option with OEM disc instead of BBKs before, but my OEM discs need replacement and found a good deal on StopTech BBKs, so it makes more sense to go with StopTech front only kit compared to retrofit considering the small cost difference.

Currently undecided on front 6 or front 4 calipers, cost aside, front 4 seems to provide more than sufficient performance even when using it on track (won't track the car more than 1-2 days a year), and is lighter weight. Front 6 will look better for sure, even more performance and heat capacity but based on my used I will likely be anywhere near the limit for even the front 4 kit.

Personally I think the weight saving from 355 disc compared to 380 will make a more noticeable difference for my case than the additional performance offered by the front 6 but want to see if anyone have different opinion on this.

Also, is it usually hard to get front and back matching pads with front BBK and rear OEM?

For 1-2 days on track a year, the 4 pot is plenty.

And for pads, I like Cobalt Friction, they have sets as the 4 pot stoptech uses a Porsche pad shape.

I found a used 6 piston 380 kit cheap and refurbished it for my street car. Definitely way more brake than I need. Looks great, but weighs about the same as stock brakes. If I was doing it over again, I would probably do the 4 piston 355 kit since it would stop as well as stock while weighing less.

Can you share a link to your stoptech deal? I'm building my Alfa w/oem rotors (i don't track the car) and i'll be about $1600 in when done.

Good point on the 4pot pad shape, that's one thing I found while doing more research.

At the same price I'd probably go for the 380 as well(gotta say the 380 looks great), but saving money and weight on the 355 is hard to beat especially when the extra brake power is not needed.

I think about a year ago there was a sale at which the Stoptech ST40 355 could be bought for around $1400. Have not seen prices that low since. I do know how to put together an ST60 380 kit for around $2700.

Shit $1400 for ST40 355 is one heck of a deal, the best I could find for standard ST40 is a little above $2000. ST60 for $2700 isn't hard to do tho, it's prob on the avg to low end but have seen lower lately.
