Recommendations for the best bang for the buck BBK for street/occasional track use.
What's going on fella's. Just got a 09 e92 m3 with 19" 220m wheels, the car has stock suspension and brakes. I got my hands on a kw variant 3 coil overs, soon I'm gonna invest in a BBK. I'm gonna have them installed together so I got some time to try and figure out what direction to go. Just curious which kit are you guys truly pleased with.

There is a guy on here who's selling a used Alcoin bbk for $4500, but its been rebuild so that kind of concerns me. What do you think of the StopTech bbk ?

ST40/60 front setup, OEM rears. Swap in pads for the track, change your brake fluid to something like RBF 600. Should be pretty budget and ready to track after that.

Thanks for the tip! I don't know if id want to leave the rears stock. I want to buy a kit front and rear just trying to figure out which ones to go with. What I meant for (best bang for the buck) is the best deal on a complete BBK package. Besides improved track performance, I love how they look.

I truly don't mean to thread jack, but I am also trying to upgrade my brakes and I've been advised by both MRF and EAS (two of the biggest and most trusted shops in SoCal) not to go with a Stoptech kit because of the problems that shops have had dealing with parts replacement (pads, rotors etc.) and issues that arise from their kits. Can any owners chime in on this? I've been advised to go AP or Brembo, but their kits are significantly more expensive.

The machined studs back out of the caliper adapters on StopTech brakes when you try and remove the calipers. It's happened to every set I've owned, I think four now. The adapter is billet aluminum, the stud SS, and the nuts have a zinc coating on them and bind up for some sciency/heaty reason and it's very annoying, I would imagine servicers hate them for that, they need threadlocking back in and then you need to sort new nuts out to hold the calipers. Bit of a nightmare if you're in a time pinch on a job. I still buy ST because I don't need to remove the calipers very often and they're good value for the $.
