Reuse reinforcement plate bolts?

So I think I dropped a oil filter housing bolt down there and have had no luck sweeping with a magnet. Plus I’d like to remove it to clean the oil mess and drain the block.

Can the bolts be reused? I know it was removed for RBs, not sure if they replaced them when they did the job.

Merry Christmas!

Reuse. Just make sure they are good-n-tight. I have reused mine many times.

Cheers,

safe to be reused as they are steel bolts.

Yes, you can reuse them. Note: They are already stretched. Do not follow the factory angle torque sequence!

so if you're not using the factory re-torquing spec of 56nm + 90*, what target are you torquing to? In the end 56 + 90* doesn't end up being 56Nm if you were to reuse the bolts. According to the data log from when I last did the plate bolts the 56NM + 90* ends up at roughly 89NM applied at the end of torquing.
I used new bolts. I wouldn't feel safe doing that to used bolts. It feels like they are ready to snap.

To be honest, I just ballpark it on with my little impact gun. These aren't high precision fasteners. If you're going to worry about precision on these, it matters a lot more to do it with the car sitting on the suspension.

That said, I'd probably torque them to about 50ft-lbs reusing.
