Silverstone interior repair

Wanted to say thanks for welcoming me to the forum, there is hours of great information here.

Had a couple things I could not find but if I overlooked them my apologies.

1. I have some wear on my drivers seat I will attach a photo below, I was told colourlock works well. Can anyone give me some advice on how to repair this?

2. Is this silverstone or silverstone II?

Thanks so much

I had an issue with my center armrest in my 2015 F80 with Silverstone leather. I used a kit from autoleatherdye.com; it provides a foam applicator that allowed me to re-coat the surface to the point where it's virtually impossible to see evidence of a repair. The surface has to be very clean, so I'd advise using a leather cleaner to begin with, but be careful of something like alcohol or other solvent. You might have to apply a few coats to cover the defects.

I would also recommend a very good cleaning first. Used a high quality leather cleaner and cleaning brush to prep the leather before you apply the dye. Good luck, post some after pics please.

I really like swisswax leather cleaner. That’s what I would use.

I'll wager that will look much much better after a clean and condition. That is a very dirty seat. I use leatherique, it's fantastic. I have a slight bit of similar wear on my bolster that I keep conditioning, it gets better and better.

I would advise on using an airbrush when using something like Colourlock. It makes it much easier to blend between the areas that you're going to paint. Using the provided foam applicator can leave streaks of paint on your leather. You can get a cheap airbrush on Amazon.

Make sure you clean the seat well before doing anything.

What year is your car? Mine is 2015, so it's Silverstone; Silverstone II might be for LCI. Plus, you can use an online VIN checker to see how your car is equipped and get the color code for the interior.

You're welcome - best of luck with the repair. The product I got from that supplier worked really well on my armrest. Another technique you might try is using a small foam roller, which applies the colorant a little more evenly. Use a couple of thin coats, as it likely won't cover the worn area with only 1 coat.
