It's going to make sounds regardless after sitting for a while. Ceratec and mos2 have different uses. Read the instructions and use them appropriately.

What about the myth about ceratec affecting rod bearing clearance? Sorry to ask again but past discussion has no conclusions

Hmm Ceratec affecting rod bearing clearance... I haven't heard that, could you cite your source please? I'd be interested in looking into it.

I just emailed Cera Tec directly with this specific question... I'll post their answer if/when they respond.

I use Ceratec in every single one of my vehicles. I swear by it. I can't see any downsides to throwing in a bottle of it.

I think according to the proportions directed on the bottle, one would pour approx 1.5 bottles into the engine oil, and half a bottle into the trans fluid, ya?

I ran both before (separately) in my M3. There isn't any noticeable difference. I guess you feel better that you have something in the engine?

So I got a response from CeraTec…

"thank you very much for contacting us and your interest in our LIQUI MOLY products.

Our Cera Tec is our latest high-tech additive formulation that contains two active ingredients for less friction and wear. It´s designed in particular for use with modern engine designes with tight cleanances, high rpm, high temperatures and high pressure. As long as it is usesd proper it never can clogg any oil lines or increases wear because of lowering clearances too much (the ceramic particles only have a size of maximum 1 micrometer / 0,001 milimeter). Cera Tec has proven itself worldwide and will protect your engine even under tough operating conditions. The ideal dosage of Cera Tec is at around 6-7% of the total motor oil volume."

I pasted in a screenshot of the actual message below.
