Back in e92...
Posted on the F80 forum and received 1~2 flames for it; although there were still some folks that understood the e9x platform.
Missed my e92 that I had to trade in for a minivan (had triplets) 11 years ago; bought another few weeks ago for a great price. Just completed rod bearing, TA, motor mounts. I am tempted to mod but this car but drives so well w/o any need for modifications. |

Congrats! You deserve to have a e92 if you have triplets lol. Honestly I wouldn't do too many mods on this car. It drives well enough from the factory and looks so damn good even stock. Only thing I'd do besides the preventative maintenance which you've already done would be to do an exhaust to hear that glorious v8. Enjoy in good health!

Congrats and welcome back from the dark side, lol! She looks marvelous!
Ok, so how is the direct comparison now that you have both side by side? Personally after having driven a few newer BMW's I was less that impressed with the "feel" but other than that I liked all they had to offer.

You're absolutely spot on regarding the 'feel'. The e92, in all its stock glory, outperforms as a true drivers car. Everything from 5,000 - 8,400 rpm, including throttle calibration and engine responsiveness. Like having a mind-rear axle connection. The F80 is very fast.

The F80 is fast in theory but good luck putting the power down! The car is a mess with power delivery. The chassis/motor balance is all out of whack plus it sounds like a turd. I don't miss my F80 at all really. |
