EDC Weirdness
Recently I've noticed a weird symptom with the M3. I set my EDC preference so it starts up in normal mode (one light). When I press the EDC button to go to Sport (two lights) sometimes it just goes to Comfort (no lights). I would have to press it two more times to go to Sport. This happens up to three times a day to once every few days. Anyone else experience this?

It cycles up and down, if one light is on when you start the car, it does down to no lights on then one light , then two lights. Its just how BMW programed it.

Actually, I had the same issue...my DSC would also occasionally shut off on its own as well. Though I reported it at my first service, it couldn't be replicated and I threw itout as a fluke.
Well, 2 days ago my E92 M3 freaked out - CEL, VSC off, and a yellow Brake - it went into failsafe mode (4k redline). After bringing into the dealer immediately, they thought a part of the DSC failed...but after doing standard diagnostics, it went back to normal. Long story short, my car is being checked out by a BMW Field Engineer. Though I'll get more details tomorrow, they think they're is an issue in the ECU programming...which is why they have not yet released it back to me. -Rich I bring that up, because I think it was related to my EDC |

It's reported that there is another firmware update happening in Dec, maybe this will fix some of the minor bugs that owners are reporting!
