looking to add a towing hitch/ package to a 2015 x5d. the car does have a 3rd row. i do want a solid one in case i tow anything sizable. maybe a mastercraft or 4 place snowmobile trailer.

Curt or Stealth one will work fine.

As long as you get a class 3 or higher everything is going to be rated for more than what the vehicle is rated for, and will pull what you need just fine.

I have the StealthHitch and haven't had any issues, but you'll drop a bit more $$$ on it and accessories.

Garage List
I have a 3rd row and went with the Curt class III 13077. I bought it from E-trailer. I installed it at home with help from my dad. It took about 3-4 hours. It's not hidden but it looks good. I only use it for a hitch mount bike rack so I don't have any input on towing capacity. I do recommend it though.

If by aftermarket you mean did I install it myself, then yes, but I also have all the tools and have always worked on my own vehicles. Getting the bumper off without damaging it can be challenging.
