Crackling Sound in A/C
Hi guys,
Does anyone get crackling noise after air conditioning run for about 1 min? Or when you turn A/C switch off and turn back it on after a while. The noise is like a popcorn, check this link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_Np...w?usp=drivesdk Last edited by Simonyet; 10-24-2021 at 11:17 AM.. |

I've had both my previous 2014 and current 2017 F15s do this. The 2014 did it more frequently whereas my 2017 only does it randomly and can't be replicated.
Only difference between them was the 2017 has rear A/C where as the 2014 did not. The good news is that I've never experienced any issues resulting from strange noise, nor lack of cooling performance beyond the normal sub-par cooling compared to other cars. |

Just enjoy the nuance of the F15 platform, the rest of the build is pretty solid. |

No I haven't went to have it checked out as it goes away quickly, I will have to try and record it and take it to the dealer, but really not in a rush as its not a big problem.

is it possible that the sound from heater exchanger? i see the diagram, the heat exchanger location below the middle air vent. a bmw enthusiast told me that he has a similar experience in his E46 and it came from a heater flap that perform to close and the rubber around it already obsolete.
