Idrive controller replace,

Are there any good step by step videos on how to replace the idrive controller? I’m looking to see how to disassemble the center console are replace on a 2011 manual trans.
Thx

Look for a DIY on removing the center console trim. There's definitely some out there. It's really easy. Once you have the top trim piece off, just remove the controller and swap in the new one. Should be a 20 minute job, tops. I replaced my top trim piece a few years ago in just a few minutes and that included swapping everything over to the new piece.

This shows it pretty good:

Probably don't even need a DIY for this. The center console pops up, you can start at the back towards the back of the car, pop it up then slowly pull it up to release the clips.

You'll need to remove a few clips and mind the wiring for the Power/EDC buttons. If you unclip those then take the whole thing over to a work bench and the iDrive controller pops out with a couple of visible clips. Snap the new one in and plug everything in and you're all set.

There is a shadow code that the iDrive knob will throw because the new SW won't match but it shouldn't bother anything.
