Help w Tank Leakage / NVLD error code that won't die

Hey Buds –

Both of my cars have these two hella annoying error codes that will not fucking go away:

194604 – Tank leakage module, electrical: open circuit
194602 – Tank leakage module, electrical: short circuit to ground

I've checked the wiring, and it's fine.
I tried to reset and clear the codes, and they won't clear.
I replaced the module in one of the cars, and the code still won't go away.

I would "destroy it with fire", but it's so close to the gas tank it seems like a dumb idea (and this is a JOKE).

Any pro tips here from the wise & experienced on this god forsaken piece of emissions management?

Smooches,
David
