Upshift paddle failure?

I picked up this nearly perfect E92 M3 last year that has a non-functioning upshift paddle. All the steering wheel controls work except for that paddle, so I started at the cheapest possible fix and put a new clock spring in.

During the install I went ahead and swapped the OEM paddles for some aftermarket ones so I could inspect the inside of the shifter mechanism. The ball bearing was in place and seemed to be actuating correctly. It didn't seem to be in any different condition as the left paddle, as well as the gold/copper contact on top of the arm. The harness is seated properly and there are no signs of damage to the connector.

After installing the new clock spring and putting the wheel/airbag back on, the problem persists.

Am I looking at a bad switch that needs replaced or has anyone encountered this issue and fixed it?

Appreciate any input

See if you can switch the paddles from left to right and see if problem is the same. You probably have a bad paddle. Buy one on ebay or I have an extra I would sell
