A week in the Lemans Blue 6MT BPM Harrop E90

Yesterday kicked off on a family trip to a dude ranch in Northern Idaho. While the girls are riding, I'll be taking various road trips in the Rocky Mountain foothills, including the 300 mile Selkirk Loop which covers two countries and two states. Appropriately, my e90 is named Rocky.

To prepare, I robbed a front tire from my e93 and threw it in the trunk for a spare tire, along with a Jack and a few other key tools. I also travel with a spare supercharger belt and a couple liters of oil.

Day 1 got a mid afternoon start. With a full tank of gas and luggage for 3, well let's just say I paid for the entire suspension and damn it I'm going to use it. We cut through the Columbia River gorge and into the desert east side. Lots of open roads and a handful of unmarked Staties kept the lid on.

Today we'll complete the trip to Sandpoint - Western Pleasure Guest Ranch.

Awesome trip, have fun!

Kinda surprised you saw some troopers, seems like they barely exist in WA anymore... at least when I'm driving the highways. 2 summers in a row we've driven Seattle to Sunriver/Bend OR and I never see cops anymore in either state. We cruise at 80-90 (in the X5) and if they are out there hiding, I guess they couldn't be bothered

Day 2

A pleasant 120 miles from Cheney WA to Sandpoint ID along 395 and highway 2, and onto the ranch. Even pre-teen drama couldn't pierce the joy of the day.

I really can't get over how well done this Harrop kit is and what a nice match it makes on the e90 6mt with Corse exhaust. Whether I'm at home at sea level or climbing mountain passes at 8k feet the kit just pulls and pulls and really epitomizes OEM+.

Day 3 - while the girls rode horseback I left on the Selkirk Loop, 300 miles of linked mountain highways stretching from north Idaho into Washington and into Canada. I missed the ferry at the northern terminus and elected to redrive a section and used a connecting highway to finish something "loopish". Regrettably missed Harrop, British Columbia in the course of my re-route. Despite the holiday rain kept the roads mostly empty and it made for a great day to stimulate the gasoline economy. Entry into Canada required an app plus uploading a vaccine card. Back into America just a passport. The US Border Patrol agent was pretty bored and searched my trunk, commenting on my ghetto spare tire, lol. The Canadian agent liked my exhaust note. Pulled away from a gas pump where a C8 was filling up and the cashier was outside taking photos. I left them something to think about from my sleeper sedan, that Harrop plus corsa and test pipes sure can scream! My ears are feeling it this afternoon.

The M3 is truly a do everything car. I've done road trips with the family, 4 of us plus luggage in the E92. Let's see a 911 do that!

Day 4 - charted my own drive through northern Idaho and northwest Montana, the land of suggested speed limits. Covered 380 miles in 7.5 hours, from Sandpoint to Eureka MT on the Canadian border to Flathead Lake and back. Most of the trip spanned US highway 2, and also sections of 93 and 95. Montana state highway 37 was the surprise gem, 60 miles of vacant high speed twisties. The road was a little rough at times but the vistas and hard carving turns made up for it by far. I saw zero cars going my direction across the entire distance and probably fewer than 10 cars coming the other way -amazing. This is among the most isolated geography in the continental US and a real gem in the e90.

I was thinking that exact same thing two weekends ago cruising on I 5 in my e93 going 82 in a 60. Found the trooper and a $108 ticket. I started pulling over before he even turned his lights on- I think that bought me some grace on the violation
