Dilemma: TE37s or 2NH
So I'm an idiot and didn't check to see if the 2NH would fit my current TE37SL (they don't. I'm sure everyone else knew this but me lol)
So…..I'm truly conflicted on what to do: Keep the 2NH and get a different set of wheels (run on a loaner set of 763M for now) Or Stay with the TE37s (Borrowing a photo of @endl3ss car since his car is my idol) |

I don't think TE37s look particularly great on the F8x platform.
Nor do I think the 2NH brakes are worth having to run 19s. The brake kit is also damn heavy. Ditch both, get a set of Apex rims for the track, Girodisc rotors for the stock blue brakes and then upgrade to a proper track BBK in the future.

TE37’s are for imports, NOT Euro’s!!!
There, I said it… Honestly, I never even liked them on the NSX platform either. I had Advan RG3’s on that and it was killer! If only, I could get those for the F8X. Stock wheels are best for this platform and fortunately there’s tons of options. Keep it looking proper to the region of origin. |

I know TE37's are the "it" wheels right now but I just haven't been able to appreciate them on the F8X platform. Go for the FI-R if your budget allows it. Plus I'm sure you'll have no issue selling the TE37 wheels

Te’s look great so don’t listen to anyone who says they are jdm tuner wheels. Car looks great with them and being different goes a long way.
So tired of seeing the same wheels on these cars because people are boring lol Rock these wheels and enjoy your car |

I understand everything has been done but I have yet to see te’s on a f80 in ny in person. Everyone (majority) of f80 owners have HRE or stock wheels which is boring at this point. TE’s on evos and other jdm cars is a different story. |

This thread turned into a wheel bashing argument lol.
OP, if you don't track your car, there is really no need for bigger brakes on the street over the iron blue brakes unless you just like the look of the bigger brakes. If you do track your car, there are better options out there for brakes than 2NH that will fit under your TE37. I kinda get the impression that the 2NH brakes don't really have a good place in the real world (other than looks ). • Going to 2NH from blue calipers adds quite a bit of unsprung mass and requires certain wheels to fit, and you really need to be on a racetrack to see any type of increased braking performance. The 2NH brakes might hold up to the heat better, but they also slow the car's acceleration down and make your suspension work harder so it's an odd trade off to make. Stock blue brakes on the street still have no problem locking the wheels up and having ABS intervene. Removing dust shields and using Girodisc rotors and blue calipers are pretty good for most sane people on track days. • People with carbon ceramics downgrade to the steel 2NH rotor mainly because of cost savings. • People with carbon ceramics or 2NH M2c get rid of them and go to a smaller BBK for more track-oriented cars for lighter weight, better heat management, and something that will fit under 18" wheels. • I love TE37s |

Gold 2NH look badass, albeit a heavy caliper/rotor combo. They are an incredible street/track mix with Girodisc rotors. No pad taper or pad rattle issues.
The blue calipers are just so tiny. BBK is the best upgrade to track with, but there are trade offs on the street (pad rattle even with anti-rattle clips, locked-in pad selections @ high cost, bad pad taper when anti-rattle clips are used).

OEM+ ..and CCB Gold is like jewelry for your wheels. Balance the slight weight increase with light weight forged aluminum mono blocks. Speaking from experience... OEM CCB Calipers + Girodiscs + Custom compound brake pads street/track + Spiegler SS Lines + RBF 660 Hard to beat this combo price, performance and looks wise. |
