steering column wiring - please help identifying connector (picture)
All, maybe a long shot, but looking for a picture of a 4-pin connector that goes into (behind) the steering column.
I am working through sorting a wiring issued for my track car build...and I believe I may/have mixed up two sets of wires Any help would be much appreciated..

I believe that would be where the heated steering wheel button would be plugged in if you have the heated steering wheel option.
I am off from work so can not confirm 100% but based on an F87 I have seen at work with heated steering wheel the button was mounted on the left of the steering column trims and would make sense that is where most likely was connected. The heated steering wheels were not very common options to be selected where I am from so rarely would see them. I am not 100% unless I was able to find a diagram or if I was to come across a car again with the option and could have a look, but I do believe it is very likely that connection is for the heated steering wheel button, hope this might atleast give you a direction to start looking in. |

I think you are very likely to be correct…my car does not have this option and I have been struggling to find the connector in my pile of (saved) cute wires. This maybe why I have not found it…
In some respect, I wish it was the missing piece I have a (increased steering wheel effort) error in my cluster with the steering wheel and DSC lights on. The ICM module (center arm rest area) has power, canbus wires have voltage, trying to find the piece (wire) to sort through this. BMW engineers got fancy with the F8x platform… |
