Got First Look at my G70

Got first look at my car yesterday.Car was parked among others so it wasn't the full walk around.Hadn't been PDI'ed yet so couldn't drive it.Got in, started it and just took it all in for half hour or so.For a 45 year BMW enthusiast the only word the comes to mind IMHO is--STUNNING!!The haters are gonna hate but I love it!The lines are tight, the proportions are classic and boy,it's got presence. In full shadowline and Carbon Black the grill fades and appears smaller than G12.Not as wide. The detailing outside and in is outstanding.I'm over the moon.Sat.9:00AM for delivery. They say don't wish away time but this may be the exception!

Looking forward to pictures after you pick it up. I've seen pics of the car in black and it suits it very well. Better than light colors.

That's awesome. I'm so excited and can't wait to pick mine up. Not sure if I'll get it this Saturday as it looks like it's still sitting at the port in Baltimore.

Excellent, please post pictures. I am supposed to get mine on Friday, but I doubt that’s going to happen because it hasn’t arrived to the dealer yet.

Finally saw a 7 in person today.....wanted to reserve judgement because the pics looked bad but sometimes the cars just look better in person. The car is just as bad in person.....the front is not bad but the rear is just boring and the side profile...meh.

I'm sure it's nice inside.....but it's a hard pass for me. That being said, I feel the S class doesn't look as good as the last generation, either.....and it's been a long time since I said that, too.

Tastes differ. It is quite clear that not everybody likes the styling, and there is no right opinion other than your own. I think the car looks way better in person than in the pictures. Of course, since I have mine, there is some "confirmation bias" in there but I am happy and my wife, who is not a car person in any way, is enthusiastic about this one. As for the S class, I test drove one a few months ago. The styling is more classic (but very sedate) and the interior is elegant, but the handling does not compare to a 7. For me, what the car is like driving it from the inside is the key.

What color did you see? For this car that may have a big impact on it's appearance. I have not seen the car in person, but I like the dark colors with the M front or the i7 front.

It was a white 760i. I think the front was integrated good (I had the same qualms about the X7 LCI front but I think in person it looks fine). I just don't like the rear and side profile….the side doesn't look sleek. I really think they nailed it on the last generation 7 LCI…..it looked mean from the front.

Fair enough. I have no doubt the 7 is likely ultra luxurious and drives amazingly….but man, I have to love the exterior of the car. As you said, different spokes for different folks….I have a 4 door AMG GT, too, and a lot of people hate what that looks like as well.
