My First X5

Hi all
I am about to purchase my first X5 after waiting and saving for 2 years
I found one that I like very much but am concerned as it gets noisy after I get past 35kph
It gets louder as the speed increases and sounds like tyre noise but the tyres are new having continental on the front and pirelli scorpion on the rear

Should I be worried please

Its a 2010 xDrive 30d

Thanks

I would get it checked by a BMW mechanic. a 2010 is getting up in years. You might be playing with fire here, since it looks like you aren't a mechanic…could be an expensive mistake. How many miles?

2010 is too early for an F15 X5 (introduced in 2013). General advice above from FCX5 is sound, but you might get more model specific help on the E70 forum.

As an owner of a 2010 x5 diesel... if you aren't mechanically inclined. Or have a large bank account. Avoid it. I love ours, drive it frequently, and really enjoy it. But I've put almost $10k into it for maintenance/repairs (doing 99% of work myself) over the last 5 years. That includes me having to put a low-mileage trans into it after the ZF 6HP26 lost it's E clutch bearing/bushing.
