Stealth Hitch + S8SL Car coding needed?

Hey guys

Soon going to be towing roughly 5500lbs (track car + others) - and have narrowed my search to stealth hitch. My new to me 18' does have "S8SL" option.

Can someone tell me if the following is all that is needed:

-Stealth Hitch + Active harness + coding.

Also is this the best option to date?

I went the stealth hitch and tekonsha route. Couldn't be happier. I don't do a lot of towing so a little beeping while in reverse doesn't bother me.

You know you only miss the coding for the hitch? Removing 8SL and adding k235? Look here. https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1785015 You can also ask your dealer to retrofit it, they shouldn’t charge much if you have a good relation

Are you sure you don’t have 8SL? From my point of view, 8SL was remove only for a small period of time during the pandemic, certainly not in 2018. I wouldn’t settle for anything less than a perfect install with active harness.

Yes. I did it with the dealer just to be sure to not mess around with each new version of the iLevel.

It's ok to use a coder also but be aware that if you update the iLevel of the car, you might need his services again.

Right …you have no module. The basic pieces for a hitch retrofit are: Hitch, Harness (BMW PN: 82712349500), Control module (BMW PN: 63119463372). Then the car needs to be coded
