Tragedy Hits!
Angering day! My freshly detailed, spotless, milt condition M3 was secretly garage rapped. My condo associated decided to pressure wash my grimy underground parking garage without my knowledge. I got back from work and noticed a firm of dirty, half dried water drying over the entire car. They power washed the entire garage even the ceiling above the car. Worst is that they used a "oil removing chemical" on the ground which definitely hit my car. I called the cleaning company and ripped them a new asshole, A BIG ONE. Pieces of shit! No obvious damage to the paint job under the light after i rinsed it down. What do you guys think? Should i let this go.....

did they leave notice that they were going to be cleaning the garage? if they did, that's on you. if not, i'd piss and moan until they gave me a free exterior detail.

+1 I'd say you and your car just had a bad day. A tragedy is far worse man. If you and your family/friends are healthy and safe, praise The Lord and don't worry about such minor things like a dirty car!

Forget whether the post is headed “tragedy” - It’s a legitimate question from Mr AK – I’d ask a professional detailer to have a look under their halogens or other lights to see if there is any clear coat damage or water spots or such like. If you have had the car professionally detailed (or if you do it yourself) there would almost certainly be damage to any sealants or waxes that had been applied if it got hit with a solvent.

Maybe if you titled your thread more appropriately some body might actualy answer you question. So here it goes,I would do a formal letter to the appropiate people that authorized the cleaning of the parking spot therebye putting them on notice. Get the car detailed by a pro If there is paint damage then deal with the building people and failing that ,damage like this would fall under your comprehensive coverage,so no impact on future rates. A pain yes!but not the end of the world. |

Different people have different definition of tragedy, give the guy a break
I would ask the cleaning company to pay for the exterior cleaning.

I would just let it go and move on. You said the car was just detailed so it should have had a nice thick coat of wax on it. That probably protected it just fine.

Some guy just totalled his car because he skid in cold weather. You said there's no visual damage. The engine, gearbox & the chassis are the most important anyway

The only other thing I would do is talk to your condo assoc. president or whatever and find out if there is a schedule you can obtain that would let you know in advance when these things will be happening. They must have known it was going to be cleaned on that day.
