Interior noise vs 911T
Hi. I'm intrigued by the 911T as a daily. I do a lot of highway though. Thus, I'm unsure about the interior noise at highway speeds. I really dislike the drone of the F80 ZCP (even with the fake noise turned off) at 60-80mph. I believe the 992T will also have less insulation. But thought I'd ask if anyone has experience with the prior T or 992Base at highway speeds vs F8X.
Thanks. |

No idea to answer your question, but if you can afford this change, do it in a heartbeat and never look back!

I have a 997.1 and the road noise is much lower than my m3 CS
The exhaust on my 997 is much louder now than the CS Just took a 992 TT out several weeks ago and it’s set up as a proper GT car stock it will cruise way better than a M3, the m3 is by far has tge loudest road noise of any car I’ve owned in a long time. Even after changing tire brands it’s still really loud I couldn’t drive the m3 daily if my commute was more than 15mins (thankfully it’s not) but I can drive my 997 daily, and definitely doing it in a 992 TT will be way more comfortable than a m3 |

I own a 2021 992 TTS but daily my 2019 F82 M4 non-ZCP. In terms of road noise in the 992 TTS vs my F82 coupe, the 992 TTS has a tad more wind and road noise. I feel like it does have less insulation. The suspension is also stiffer than the F82 and any cracks in the road is more pronounced.
If you live in an area with a lot of dips and steep driveways you ABSOLUTELY need the Front Axle Lift System (Option Code 2UH). There is also a PASM option which is like an 10mm lowering option plus adaptive dampers to increase comfort over bumps in the road. The car is also very small compared to my M4. The frunk is really small and can only keep like my backpack/laptop bag. It is definetly not a car you want to bring to Costco if you plan to buy a lot of stuff. I mean you can always throw it on your seats but I wouldn't want to damage the leather accidentally. I don't plan to drive my 992 TTS more often until I move to another state with smoother roads like Washington. Roads in Los Angeles are garbage and the recent rain storm really wore out the road and created a lot more pot holes. CanAutM3 probably can give you the best insight as he probably drives his 992 TTS more than I do.

Maybe I am the only one but I daily m4 and I can barely even hear anything on the road. I have a VR valved exhaust which makes it virtually soundless closed but straight pipe super loud when open

Thanks both. Interesting that it's not a clear cut for all. I recently drove a 992 Base and thought it's was much better than the F80 from a road noise perspective. I also though power was enough and certainly puts it down better than the M3. But I'm interested in the Carrera T which has less insulation, therefore my question.
The front axle lift sounds like a good idea for my crazy driveway. It's the front overhang that concerns me. |

What tires are you running? And what type of surfaces, I noticed on asphalt it’s pretty quiet, where it’s really loud is any concrete type of highway surface like you see a lot in the northeast |

It also helps that you live in New Port Beach LOLOL. The roads there are much better than Beverly Hills.
