Famoso Track Rental - Pics And Results
Hi everyone, I just wanted to share some pictures and numbers from our private drag day at Famoso yesterday.
Here is a summary of the best times from the event..... these numbers are from memory until I get the slips from the owners :y GTR ran 11.33 @ 125 mph Porsche 996 Turbo ran 10.89 @ 133 mph Fastest CLK63 BS ran 11.04 @ 129.8 mph Fastest E55 ran 11.24 @ 124 mph Fastest SL55 ran 11.27 @ 126 mph Jeep SRT8 ran 11.12 @ 125 mph Challenger ran 11.4 @ 120 mph BMW 135 ran 11.80s @ 119 mph Crossfire SRT6 ran 11.89 @ 118 mph M5s ran 12.0 to 12.2 @ 121 mph M3 ran 12.20 @ 113 to 114 mph My stock E63 ran 12.22 @ 115.5 mph Please note that temp reached a high of 72 F and DA of +1900 ft. If you correct these times to sea-level, most of these times correct down by at least 0.2 seconds in the ET and 1 mph for trap speeds. Auktane did an awesome job with pictures at the event. Here are some of them.... I hope to see more M3 guys and BMW owners join us next time....

Not really guys.... the M3 did very well. The crossfire was heavily modded. He had a bigger crank pulley to increase boost + a bunch of other mods.
Terry's 135 is an exception. No matter what he ends up running, he goes extremely fast. We all had a fun day yesterday, and it was worth running the cars while practicing different launches, tire pressures, suspension setups, different shifts, etc..... The M3 did very well and came very close in beating a modded M5

Was Terry's 135 modded or is Terry some sort of race god?

Both
Terry is a great guy, he has done a lot for the 335 platform, and continues to push the envelope and raise the bar every time he's out on a race track. Yes, his car was modded. I think he had his tune + tires + gas..... I'm not sure what else. But the car was running extremely strong. By the way, if temps or DA were a little lower yesterday, the M3 would've hit 11s.

Yes it's modded, I believe over 400WHP and TQ, Terry is a tuner, he sells the "JB-1-3" or "Juicebox" tunes for the N54 TT motors. With that DA a turbocharged car will have the adavantage, but I would guess even if it was at sea level Terry's 135I would still beat it out, his 335I ran strong too.
The C63 Black Series is very impressive for all motor. Was there only the one modded M3 there? Looks like it was a great event, my buddies BBI 996TT, ran in the high 10's! Great pics as well, thanks for posting!

The M3 had an ECU tune + some bolt-ons.... During out last time out, he ran 12.10s... If weather was cooler, he could've easily ran 11.90s.

Disappointing results for the M3, but beautiful pics. I especially like the one with the M3 doing the burn out. Can you post a high-res version that I can use for my desktop?
