New to me M3

Hello all. Been on these forums while a while now. Started my bmw ownership with an E90 328 some time ago. Been to F30s, E36s, E70s and now I am back into an E92 M3. The car I had in my room in high school. They say never meet your hero’s but my god this car is everything I imagined and more.

Got a good deal on an ESS g1 2008. All proper maintenance was done about 10k ago. Car had oil leak when I arrived which I believe to be the drivers side VCG so I got a few grand off the price. Having a buddy take a look soon.

2008 6MT black (wrapped satin white) (sorry if pics are bad quality)

Anyway I’m excited to be back in the best generation of M3. Can’t wait to continue this build and get back into the E9X community. Cheers!

Thanks man! Genuinely surreal. Was looking for an F80 due to my desire to have a bit more power but the e92 sold me. I know the S65 has its gremlins but I feel confident. I’m fairly meticulous about my cars and I believe if this platform is kept ahead of with maintenance it’s a reliable option especially not as a daily.

Thanks! Already dug into things. Doing VCG and timing cover gasket. A nice little sneak preview into the ownership cost lol

You might want to look into whether you think doing the vanos covers is worth it. It is a new while you’re in there upgrade for that area.

Hey, mind sharing how much you paid? I'm in the market for a manual M3 and I'm curious if you paid a premium for the supercharger?

No problem. Yeah I ended up paying 28,500. Had tons of maintenance. I don’t think the blower added much. Similar taken care of M3s are going for 25-30 depending on spec and mileage. Unfortunately the market is putting these cars at a premium.

In all honestly, I don’t mind the supercharger but buying one already done is a risk that it wasn’t done right. But personally I wouldn’t add any vlaue just because it’s supercharged tho I absolutely love it and likely now wouldn’t own this car without it.

Really make sure the right maintenance is done and it’s in good order. These cars are such a headache if they were neglected for 10 years

Thanks for letting me know. Yes, that seems like a good price. I've mostly seen 08/09 manual coupes with 80-120k miles in my price range (under $28k~).
