why does motiv tell you to not leave fluid in the tank?
so i have probably a half a bottle's worth of castrol srf sitting in the power bleeder tank from maybe 5 months ago. is the concern just moisture absorption, or that it's going to leach something out of the tank itself? it was tightened so i don't see it absorbing more moisture than if it were in the car for that period of time.
would prefer to not waste that much $$ fluid, but will if it's ill-advised...

If the cap is tightened, it's still not sealed. It would be even better to place it back into the original fluid container and seal that.
FCP Euro has a video on it and state to recycle any fluid still in the bleeder (5 minutes, 16 seconds).

Have you tried running some denatured alcohol through and air drying before you stow it away? I’ve had good results with that.
