G70 with 19" Wheels
I'm about to purchase the i7 eDrive50 and want the 19" wheels to take full advantage of the higher (321 mi.) range, as well as the smoother ride. I realize the larger wheels are the more desired size but I'm just not a huge fan of their looks.
Does anybody have any photos of their or any G70 (2023-2024 Series 7 ICE or EV) with 19" wheels? All I ever see are 20/21-inch wheels in photos/videos and dealers don't seem to have any either. Supposedly, the below i7 has 19" wheels but I'm not certain, so alternatively, do you think they are actually 19"? Thanks. [Attachment removed by OP -- they actually weren't 19" tires...] Last edited by DroMike; 12-25-2023 at 12:26 AM.. |

There is another post above that indicates that 19s will not fit but that was for a i7. Presumably the same is true for 760 ICE's but I don't know about the eDrive 50. These are big heavy cars with big brakes and you should verify first whether 19s will fit before you consider what they will look like. 20's may be the smallest you can fit.

Thanks Bruno. While the 735i isn't available here in the USA, your photo is a HUGE help! |

Ah, found one! Here's a photo of at least an eDrive50 with the 19" wheels (the only one with 10 spokes) from a dealership in Columbia, SC (USA). I think they look great! The photo in the configurator looks way too dark.

i7 on 19" - Winter tyres and range
Yes 19" rims do fit i7 with M-Sport Brakes (and all options available on i7).
Beware its that tight, that balancing weights have to be placed in a good position, otherwise they will hit the large brake calipers. Just switched from 21" summer wheels to maximum range 19" winter wheels (highway winter range is what actually matters!). Found Anzio Split rims 8x19 ET30 Matte Silver that look very similar to BMW 903 for i7 which are 8,5x19. After researching winter tires I selected Bridestone LM005 245/50-19, new design for heavy electric cars. Have tried LM005 in similar size on our iX50 last winter with good range results and they seem to be a good compromise in range (roll resistance), grip and noise. There are other tyres that have better grip on very snowy roads, but in South Sweden grip on wet tarmac is more important. So far on i7, LM005 noise is not notable. Will monitor i7 range in winter conditions, but so far range is roughly the same as iX50. - Have driven the iX 520km in summer (highway 110-120 km/h, efficient mode no need for A/C). Have recorded 510km in same near perfect conditions on i7. Normally I get between 440-470km highway range. - In winter the iX does 420-430km (highway), but probably mainly because the lower temperature @ zero to +5 Celsius. Other brand electric cars I had, dropped to 320km, in similar conditions. >100km range difference in winter really matters to find a convenient charge stop or even skip a charge stop before home. - In extreme cold (for south Sweden with -14 Celsius) and lots of snow, I still recorded good range of 360km. Other brand dropped to 280km and heard of some dropping below 250km. - So far, spring to autumn, the i7 has roughly the same range as a iX50 (early build 04/01/2022). But i7 is charging faster, with a better charging curve and better preconditioning of battery). A year ago for the iX, i could only get 255/55R20 Bridgestone LM005, so expecting the thinner 245/50R19 on i7 to deliver even better winter range than the iX. Beware to turn off air suspension when car is lifted for wheel change. This is done with the button "Car up" on centre console that lifts the ride height. With doors closed and ignition on: Press once for high level (easier to lift the car), the hold the button 7 seconds, release button and Air Suspension is off (fast flashing LED above button). PRESS button JUST seven seconds before releasing. If you keep pressed more than 8-9 seconds nothing will happen. I went for the 21” BMW setup and it is really expensive. At +2c I get around 440 km of range which is pretty similar to what I got in my ix 50.
