Brakes

New to me 2020 BMW X6M Competition, 23,000 miles. I’ve had it one week and brakes are squeaking bad at slow speeds only (5 mph) and less. It’s a loud and annoying squeak and so bad people look. Stop and go traffic it’s terrible.

I’ve read some comments that this is common with the brakes.

Usually, just refresh the lubrication on the calliper touch points as specified in the workshop manual.

You may just have some excess material buildup.

Give this a try: on a deserted road get the car up to 50-60 and then do a hard brake down to zero, repeat several times, then drive normal to let pads cool. If it’s still making noise after that, then you may need to look at either new pads or re-lubricating the pad to caliper contact points.
